George William Brown was the son of George and Nellie Brown; husband of Maisie Patricia Brown. He enlisted in the Royal Sussex Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces.He transferred to The Glider Pilot Regiment and served with 1 Wing, The Glider Pilot Regiment, Army Air Corps.

Staff Sergeant Brown was killed on 14 March 1945 and is now buried in Hanover Communal Cemetery, Germany.
