William Morton Wood was the son of William and Margaret Wood, of Dagenham, Essex.After successfully completing his parachute training, Craftsman Wood 6th Airborne Division Workshops, Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME)..

He was killed on 20 December 1946 and is now buried in Ramleh War Cemetery, Israel.
