Stanley Sykes was the son of Fred and Annie Sykes, of Southall, Middlesex and husband of Frances Elsie Sykes, of Southall.Lance Corporal Sykes served with 6th Airborne Armoured Reconnaissance Regiment RAC (Royal Armoured Corps).

L/Cpl Sykes served in Palestine was killed on 16 November 1945 and is now buried in Ramleh War Cemetery, Israel.
