John Henry Dunsby was born in Newport on the 7 February 1926.After successfully completing his parachute training he was posted to 21 Independent Company before being transferred to 317 (Airborne) Field Security Section, Intelligence Corps, (317 FSS) where he served in Norway and Palestine.

Lance Corporal Dunsby was killed in a motorcycle accident on the 24 October 1946. He is now buried in Ramleh War Cemetery, Israel.
