Bob Walter Cotterill enlisted into the Territorial Army on 11 July 1939, and trained in Sheringham with 'M' Section, 48th (SM) Divisional Signals.

Later, Bob entered regular service and joined the 53rd Worcester Yeomanry and saw service in Normandy, the Ardennes and the Rhine Crossing.

During his service, Bob collected documents, currency and objects taken from the battlefield.  These were preserved in an album, scans of which can be viewed here.
