John Edgar Leach was the son of Fred and Emma Leach of Bishopston, Bristol.Private Leach served with the 224th Parachute Field Ambulance, RAMC and took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy on 5-6 June 1944.

Pte Leach died on 6 June, aged 33 years old. He is now buried at Brucourt Churchyard Cemetery, Normandy.
