Peter Churchill was born in 1932. In 1953 he was commissioned into The King’s Shropshire Light Infantry, where, as a Junior Under Officer (JUO) he was in the Colour carrying party at the Sovereign’s Parade at RMA Sandhurst in February 1953.In January 1956 he joined the 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment (3 PARA) and was posted to Cyprus. Major Churchill jumped at Suez and later commanded Recruit Company.

He retired in 1969.

Peter Churchill died on 20 July 2014.
