Reginald George Lloyd served with the York and Lancs Regiment from June 1940, before moving to the Green Howards in Oct 1940.

The Battalion was nominated for a parachute role becoming the 12th (Yorkshire) Parachute Battalion in June 1943.

Reginald served in the Normandy, Ardennes and Rhine Crossing operations.
