Hugh Robert Hewitt was the son of Mary Hewitt and husband to Hilda Ellen Hewitt, of Sheldon, Birmingham.He served with 2nd (Airborne) Battalion, Oxs and Bucks Light Infantry and took part in the Rhine Crossing, during Op Varsity.
Private Hewitt died on 24 March 1945, aged 28 years old. He is now buried at Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, Kleve, in Germany.
