Lance Corporal Arthur John Gould was the son of Arthur John and Matilda Caroline Gould, and husband of Ellen Riga Arnell Gould, of Whitby, Yorkshire. He served with 4th Parachute Brigade, Defence Platoon and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.He died on 20 September 1944, aged 23 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
