Horace H R John enlisted in to the Parachute Regiment in August 1958.He was posted to the 3rd Battalion, the Parachute Regiment (3 PARA).
Private John served in Bahrain on an internal security tour in 1964-5 and in the Radfan in 1964.
He was posted to Brecon Battle School for two years before returning Motor Transport Platoon, 3 PARA.
