Reginald Harry Parsons was the son of Edgar and Beatrice Parsons; husband of Dorothy Elizabeth Parsons, of Uxbridge, Middlesex, he enlisted in the Devonshire Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces.

Private Parsons successfully completed glider training and was posted to 12th (Airborne) Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment, and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).

Pte Parsons was killed in action on 19 August 1944, age 31, and was buried in Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France.
