Eric Henry Langbridge was the son of William Henry and Dorothy Isobel Langbridge, of Bath, Somerset, he enlisted into the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry and volunteered for airborne forces.
Private Langbridge successfully completed glider training and was posted to 2nd (Airborne) Battalion, Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry, and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).
Pte Langbridge was killed in action on 27 June 1944, aged 24. He was given a field burial at Le Mesnil and was re-interred to Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France on 26 June 1945.
