Joseph Eric Sellers, known as Eric Sellers initially joined The Cheshire Regiment. He then volunteered for service with the airborne forces.

Corporal Sellers took part in parachute training course 115 at RAF Ringway. The course lasted from 7 May 1944 - 22 May 1944. It was noted that he was an "Average jumper". Upon successful completion, Cpl Sellers was posted to 9th (Essex) Parachute Battalion. 

Cpl Sellers saw action in Normandy (Op Overlord), the Rhine Crossing (Op Varsity), Ardennes and Palestine. 

Whilst serving in the Ardennes, Eric met a Belgian girl called Glenda, who he would later marry. Eric was give a grade A Release from the Army 5 July 1947. 

Eric Sellers passed away in 2018.
