Lieutenant Hubert Ellis Pearson, son of William Ellis and Dora Pearson, of Cambridge, joined the Reconnaissance Corps in November 1942.By late 1944, he served with HQ Troop, 1st Airborne Recce Squadron, Reconnaissance Corps. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden and was post-humously awarded the Military Cross for his bravery during the Battle.
Lieutenant Pearson died on 19 September 1944, aged 23 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
