Thomas ‘Tom’ Herring enlisted in November 1967, joining 3 PARA in 1968.He served with 3 PARA in Malta, Greece, Libya, Cyprus, The Far East and three tours of Northern Ireland before being posted to Para Depot from 1975-77.
After returning to 3 PARA , he served in Germany and Northern Ireland again.
Sgt Herring served with HQ Coy, 3 PARA in The Falklands Campaign.
Sgt Herring retired from The Parachute Regiment in 1983.
Tom returned to The Falkland Islands in 2013 for the 30th Anniversary of Operation Corporate.
