Lance Corporal Michael Torley, son of Thomas and Martha Torley, of Kilwinning, Ayrshire, served with 7th (Airborne) Battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.Lance Corporal Torley died on 23 September 1944, aged 19 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
