Staff Sergeant Richard Roberts, son of Mary Roberts, served as an Instructor with Army Physical Training Corps, and was attached to 11th Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.He died on 21 September 1944, aged 25 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
