Thomas Denholm was born and lived in Dumfries. He enlisted in the Royal Scots and volunteered for Airborne forces.
Corporal Denholm successfully completed his glider training and was posted to HQ Company, 7th (Airborne) Battalion, King’s Own Scottish Borderers, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).
Cpl Denholm was killed in action on 25 September 1944, aged 35, and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the missing.
