William Eden, son of John and Mary Eden, of Ribbleton, Preston, Lancashire, enlisted into The Border Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces. He was a member of 15 Pln, C. Coy, 1st Bn Borders on Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).
William Eden was also successfully jump trained at RAF Ringway on course 27. Which commenced 13 Sept 1942. He is listed as being a member of the Airlanding Brigade.
L/Cpl Eden died on 22 September 1944, aged 29. He is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial, for those with no known grave.
