Private Thomas Mitchell, son of Walter and Millie Mitchell, of South Yardley, Birmingham, served with 2nd (Airborne) Battalion, South Staffordshire Regiment. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.He died on 26 September 1944, aged 21 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
