John Anthony Crabb, son of Peter Joseph and Elizabeth Frances Crabb, of Foleshill, Coventry, enlisted into the Royal Warwickshire Regiment before volunteering for airborne forces in October 1944.Pte Crabb was killed on the first aircraft jump of training course 146 at RAF Ringway on 27 December 1944. 19 Year old Pte Crabbe’s parachute became entangled in the aircraft and was still attached to the Whitley Bomber when it landed.
Pte Crabb was laid to rest at Coventry (London Road) Cemetry.
