Private Michael Stewart O'Grady, son of Robert Louis and Marion Mary O'Grady, of Hoylake, Cheshire served with 4th Parachute Battalion. He was transferred from The Royal Armoured Corps (T and E book 10/22) Michael successfully passed parachute jump training at RAF Ringway on Course 70. This course ran between 28 June and 9 July 1943. His jump instructor noted this about Michael : "Performance good, will improve".
Archive records state that Michael suffered a gunshot wound to the head on 4 January 1945 whilst on operations in Greece. He died from these wounds on 6 March 1945, aged 21 years old. He is now buried at Grave ref: IV, F, 6. Naples War Cemetery, Italy.
