Thomas Frederick Gleave was enlisted into The Suffolk Regiment during World War II and later volunteered for airborne forces.He qualified as a military parachutist on Course 166 which ran at RAF Ringway from 4 to 17 June 1945 and subsequently served with the 9th Parachute Battalion in Palestine.
