Bryon Epaminondas Basile Caravias enlisted into the Essex Regiment before transferring to airborne forces.He served with 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment in Palestine.

Sgt Caravias died on 18 August 1946 and is now buried in Khayat Beach War Cemetery, Israel.
