Leslie Honeysett enlisted into The Royal Artillery during World War II and volunteered for airborne forces.He qualified as a military parachutist on Course 121 which ran at RAF Ringway from 19 June to 1 July 1944 and subsequently served in the 9th Parachute Battalion with 11 Platoon B Company.

Leslie Honeysett is the grandfather of Carl Honeysett who later served in 2 PARA.
