Private George Lomas, son of John and Emily Lomas, of Royton, Lancashire, served with 11th Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.He died on 26 September 1944, aged 23 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
