Private Robert Leadbetter, son of David and Annie Leadbetter, of Lambhill, Glasgow, served with 7th (Light Infantry) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the D-Day landings of the Normandy campaign, during Op Overlord.Private Leadbetter died on 16 June 1944, aged 19 years old. He is now buried at Herouvillette New Communal Cemetery, Normandy.
