Alan Richard Parsons enlisted into 1st Battalion The West Yorkshire Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces while serving overseas joining 151 Parachute Battalion (later renumbered as 156).He later transferred to 8th Parachute Battalion and served in the Intelligence section, HQ Coy.
