Harry Hill was born in Denbigshire and lived in South east London. He enlisted in The East Kent Regiment (The Buffs) and volunteered for Airborne Forces.

He successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway on course number 111A, from 10 to 17 April 1944. His course report stated “Above average in performance, cheerful and confident.”

He was posted to B Sqdn, 1st Special Air Service Regiment. Harry was murdered by a Nazi firing squad on 7 July 1944, aged 29 and is now buried in Rom Communal Cemetery. Southern France.
