Private Thomas George Hands, son of Thomas and Emma Hands, of Handsworth, Birmingham, served with 2nd Parachute Battalion and took part in the North African campaign, during Op Torch and then took part in the invasion of Italy.Private Hands died on 14 September 1943, aged 24 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Cassino War Cemetery, Italy.
