Private Sidney Ellis was the son of William and Clara Ellis, of Belfast, Northern Ireland, and husband of Elizabeth Ellis, also of Belfast. He served with 1st Parachute Battalion and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.He died on 18 September 1944, aged 38 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
