Bruce Clarence Dogan was the son of Son of James Lawrence and Louisa May Dogan, of Welling.
After initial service with the Royal West Kents, Pte Dogan volunteered for airborne forces and completed Parachute Course 36 in Nov 1942. Posted to 2nd Parachute Battalion, Pte Dogan continued to serve in the UK.
On 7th May 1944, Pte Dogan was tragically killed in a crash when a Jeep he had "borrowed" from the USAAF crashed into a gas lamp in Grantham, Lincs. Pte Dogan died some 11 hours later from lacerations to the brain.
Pte Dogan is buried in Bexleyheath Cemetery, Section B, Grave 25.
