Lieutenant Peter Howard 'Cobber' Cane was the son of Lionel Charles William Cane and Doris Cane (nee Guyot), of Reading, Berkshire, and stepson of Betty Cane, of Reading. He served with 6 Platoon, 2nd Parachute Battalion, and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.Lieutenant Cane died on 17 September 1944, aged 25 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
