William Bradley was the son of William and Rachel Bradley, of Rainford, Lancashire. He enlisted into the Royal Artillery and volunteered for airborne forces.
Bombardier Bradley successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway and was posted to 3 Airlanding Anti-Tank Battery, Royal Artillery, and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).
Bdr Bradley was killed in action on 9 June 1944, aged 30, and was buried in Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France.
