Private Robert Swindell

Private Robert Edwin Swindell, son of Emma Swindell, of Urmston, Lancashire, served with 13th (South Lancs) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy, during Op Overlord on 5-6 June 1944.Private Swindell died on 9 June 1944, aged 21 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
