Private Herbert Bluck, son of William and Edith Sarah Bluck, of Peckham, London, served with 9th (Essex) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy, during Op Overlord.Private Bluck died on 11 June 1944, aged 20 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial near Bayeux War Cemetery, Normandy.
