Private George William Gorman Atkinson was the son of Ernest Metcalfe Atkinson and Elsie Naomi Atkinson, of West Park, Leeds, Yorkshire. He served with 6th (Royal Welch) Parachute Battalion and took part in the Greek campaign, during Op Manna.Private Atkinson died on 7 December 1944, aged 20 years old. He is now buried at Phaleron War Cemetery, Greece.
