Private Arthur James Malcolm Allen, son of Walter and Agnes Eleanor Allen, of Widcombe, Bath, Somerset, served with 7th (Light Infantry) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Rhine Crossing, during Op Varsity.Private Allen died on 24 March 1945, aged 23 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, near Nijmegen.

Many of the other soldiers commemorated here died in the 1st Airborne fighting around Arnhem the previous Autumn.
