Private Anthony George Wood served with Motor Transport Platoon the 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment (2 PARA).

19 year old Pte Wood was killed on 27 August 1979 at Warrenpoint, Northern Ireland by the first bomb detonated by the IRA that day. He was driving members of A Company 2 PARA to Newry.

Pte Wood is buried in Gunnersbury Cemetery, Acton London.
