Private Albert Edmund Philpot served with No 3 Platoon, 21st Independent Parachute Company and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Market Garden.Pte Philpot was killed by a shell burst on 23 September in Oosterbeek during the Battle to defend the 'Oosterbeek Perimeter' in the intense latter stages of the Battle.

Private Philpot died on 23 September 1944, aged 25 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
