Private Christopher Manourie Fryer served with 10th Battalion, The Parachute Regiment (V),10 PARA (V).

On 19th October 1968 a 3 ton lorry carrying 10 PARA and attached personnel on their annual training was hit by a train on a level crossing in Germany.  Four soldiers were killed including Pte Fryer, 10 PARA. More details of this tragic incident are available here.

All the names of those killed are to be found listed together chronologically on the main Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum, but with no indication that they were killed in the same incident, and the two members of 10 PARA are listed on the postwar 10 PARA memorial at Somerby.
