Private Ronald Barrett qualified as a military parachutist on Course 189 which ran at RAF Ringway from 31 December 1945 to 23 January 1946 and was initially posted to a Reserve Battalion.He was then transferred to the 6th (Royal Welch) Parachute Battalion and served in Palestine as part of the 6th Airborne Division.
