Company Sergeant Major John Thomas Marwood was the son of Denis and Hannah Emily Marwood, of West View, Hartlepool, Co Durham. He served with 12th (Yorks) Parachute Battalion and took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy, during Op Overlord.Company Sergeant Major Marwood died on 12 June 1944, aged 27 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
