Pte Frank Michael James Heaphy served with A Company, 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment.Pte Heaphy had only recently joined the battalion when he was taken ill while participating in an exercise.

He was admitted to hospital where he unexpectedly died a few days later on 10 February 1952, aged 19 years.

The Pegasus Journal reported in April 1952 that ‘it was with heavy hearts’that his comrades laid him to rest in Fayid Military Cemetery.'
