Private John Nathaniel Armitage, husband to Irene Armitage of Hyde, Cheshire, served with the 13th (Lancs) Parachute Battalion (formerly 2/4th Battalion, The South Lancashire Regiment) in Normandy.Private Armitage died on 7 July 1944. He is now buried at Ranville Cemetery, Normandy.
