John McClumpha joined the airborne forces in 1958, passing out of the Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces Depot in Platoon 155.He qualified as a military parachutist on course 478 which ran at No 1 PTS RAF Abingdon from 10 November to 9 December 1958.
