Sergeant Leonard William Holmes, son of Charles and Elizabeth Holmes, served with 2nd Parachute Battalion. He took part in the North African campaign, during Op Torch.Sergeant Holmes died on 1 December 1942, aged 24 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Medjez-el-Bab War Cemetery, Tunisia.
