Private Mark William Fletcher, commonly known as Fletch, served with 10 Platoon, D Company of The 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment (2 PARA) and took part in the 2 PARA Battle Group sent to the Falklands War.

He was killed during the night advance towards Darwin Hill whilst attending to Lance Corporal Cork’s wounds. He was found lying besides his Corporal, a shell dressing opened in his hand. 

21 year old Private Fletcher died on 28 May 1982 and is buried at Stockport Crematorium & Cemetery.
