Jean-Pierre joined 7th Parachute Regiment Royal Horse Artillery in 2001.

Served in Iraq 2003 on Op Telic 19 March to 28 April

Then Afghanistan with  in 2008/09 on Op Herrick 9 as a Bombardier

He left the regular army in 2010 and rejoined the reserve in 2011 and then 4th Battalion the Parachute Regiment C Coy 9 Platoon in 2015 till present.
